God started His work in me 48 years ago at a Bible Church when I trusted Jesus as my Savior. A teenage friend approached me one day and invited me to come with him to church. I was fourteen at the time, and I was mostly interested in meeting new friends. So, when he made the invitation, he peppered it with the promise of that possibility. I did meet new people that night, but most importantly, I was convicted of my sin, and I gave my heart to Jesus. I was never the same again. I know Christ changed my heart that night, and so did all my friends and the high school teachers that saw the ‘terror of their day’ remarkably become a model student and founder of the Christian Student Movement. God saved me and changed how I lived the remaining three years in my Catholic high school. Many of my friends heard the gospel from me during their junior and senior years, two of whom are ministers today, having given their hearts to Christ through my witness.
I have had the privilege of attending MBC over the last 20 years and serving the MBC family in many different ways. I’m a marriage assessor for New City Network Church Planters assessment, volunteer staff and director of Re|Engage, and I speak regularly at First Light Men’s Ministry, FOCUS and FUEL ministries. I’ve participated and led several mission trips to Ethiopia and trained pastors on biblical leadership in Bermuda, The Bahamas, and Ethiopia. I’ve served as a leadership coach and mentor to various pastors and leaders at MBC and other churches and authored Intentional Relationships: A Practical, Christ-Centered Approach to Mentoring, used in training for Orphan Care Ethiopia.
I’m a biblical counselor, and I am presently finishing a Doctorate degree at Dallas Theological Seminary. In my full-time job, I work as a thought-leader and advisor to clients in financial services, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, healthcare, academic institutions, manufacturing industries and defense contractors. My client engagements span the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, South America, South Africa, Australia, Hong Kong, Brazil and The Caribbean.
My wife Judy and I have been married for 40 years and have three children, Kendra Tucker Fykes, Kristen Tucker and Kenny Tucker, and four grandchildren, Madelyn, Remy, Layah and Austin.
