EST. 2025
The mission of McLean Bible Church (MBC) is to glorify God by making disciples and multiplying churches among all nations beginning in greater Washington, D.C. To further this mission, the McLean Bible Institute (MBI) exists to equip leaders for the church’s mission in the world.
MBI accomplishes this by providing church-based theological education and resources for leadership development. As a church-based institution, MBI seeks to equip members to strengthen the local church, serve the city, and proclaim the gospel to the ends of the earth.
This program is designed to equip church members to study and apply Scripture and doctrine into their lives and respective areas of ministry. Courses will help you understand the storyline of Scripture and key subjects like the Trinity, Christ and salvation, and will be led by Dr. Jimmy Roh.

This program is a certification course that lays a foundation in biblical care, reflecting the counseling model we aim to foster here at MBC. In this course, you’ll learn a biblical philosophy of counseling that emphasizes every believer’s role in discipleship and care. You’ll gain practical tools to understand and respond to real-life struggles, such as depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, relational conflict, and more.
This course spans seven months to provide the depth, training, and spiritual formation needed for a full certificate in biblical counseling and is led by Eliza Huie.

MBI is excited to pilot programs hosted at the Tysons location to equip church group leaders and ministry volunteers. Sample course offerings include: Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, Basic Christian Doctrine I & II, Intro to Biblical Counseling, and other electives. We will also host conferences and events to provide theological education in the areas of Scripture, theology, and formation. Programs are geared for MBC members but events are open to the general public. Courses are not offered for audit. In the future, we hope to offer courses in each of our locations.
MBI will launch pilot programs and courses for church group leaders and ministry volunteers in fall 2025. Registration will be open in the summer by July. Courses will be offered according to an academic calendar by semester (Fall, Winter, Spring) and will typically run 6–8 weeks. We also hope to offer courses in an intensive format (on weekends) in the Spring semester.
Registration for any open courses can be found on this page. To register, click “Apply” under the Programs list. All program requirements are detailed in the application and include church membership, volunteer service, and a recommendation.
There will be a fee for specific courses to cover books and other materials.
MBI is not a seminary and is non-accredited. We do not offer credit for any of our courses. Our primary purpose is to equip MBC members for ministry. Courses are only offered as a part of our programs.
