LOOK AT ALL GOD HAS DONE IN 2025!*

“McLean Bible Church family, it’s been such an incredible year. As we look back on 2025, I want us to pause and give glory to God. Everything you see in this Ministry Report – the lives transformed, the ministries expanded, the impact across the region and around the world, none of it is ultimately about us – it’s all about God.”

– Mike Kelsey, Lead Pastor

LIFE CHANGE: GLORIFYING GOD, MAKING DISCIPLES

At McLean Bible Church, our mission begins with glorifying God by making disciples, and this year, we’ve seen that mission come to life in powerful ways. Every baptism, every child learning about Jesus, every student growing in faith, every adult finding healing and hope through community and counseling— all of it points back to God’s transforming work among us. It’s time to celebrate all the ways He has and continues to change lives!

BAPTISMS

RAISED TO WALK IN NEWNESS OF LIFE

Baptism is a public declaration of an inward transformation. This year, we celebrated story after story of people taking this step of faith in obedience to Jesus, declaring that the Gospel has transformed their lives.

I am proof that you are never too old, never too broken, and never too far gone to give your heart to the Lord… and though we often feel alone in the world, when you walk with Jesus you will never walk alone again.

– Jeremy, baptized at MBC Tysons, June 2025

There was a time in my life when darkness felt louder than hope— when pain, loss, and the consequences of my choices seemed final… but God met me in my lowest place. That’s where my healing began. I’m not who I was. I am who God says I am: chosen, restored, and sent to lead, love, and inspire others through my testimony. This is my new beginning.

– Momodu, baptized at MBC Montgomery County, July 2025

By my 30s, my life was in shambles, and I was trapped in a serious addiction I couldn’t control. I tried everything in my own strength to stop and nothing worked… one night, at my lowest point, I did something different. Instead of my usual angry, self-pitying rants to God, I cried out in surrender. Through tears, I begged Him to help me and forgive me. In that moment, I was turning from my sin and placing my trust in Jesus Christ.

– James, baptized at MBC Loudoun, May 2025

During my second year of college, my roommate and I impulsively attended the Easter Sunday service at MBC Arlington, and I was introduced to a church where I was welcomed, loved, and seen.

After struggling so much with guilt and shame, feeling like I wasn’t good enough to be saved, I was finally able to let go and trust in the Lord for salvation. What I have come to understand is that I was completely missing the gift of Jesus on the cross. Because of His sacrifice, I don’t have to do anything at all to earn His love. By His grace alone, my sins are forgiven. It’s not about me, and what I’ve done, but how Jesus can redeem me for His glory.

CHURCH GROUPS

Church Groups are where our large church becomes family— where people share life, grow in faith, and live on mission together. This year, countless stories of transformation began around living rooms, dinner tables, and open Bibles.

It takes prayer. It takes a village. It takes a family. Our Church Group is truly our church family. They keep us grounded in Christ and encourage us through the daily challenges and joys of raising small children. We live through the highs and lows together, pointing one another to Christ through it all. We are so thankful for our Church Group family!

– Laura, Church Group Leader, MBC Loudoun

Walking through life together has been a profound encouragement, as we witness one another grow in our relationship with God, uplifting each other through our spiritual gifts. A cornerstone of our community is our dedicated prayer warriors, whose steadfast prayers have brought forth answers in ways that can only be attributed to God’s divine work.

– Paul, Hoang and Melissa, Church Group Leaders, MBC Tysons

After David’s message on hiding God’s Word in your heart, we challenged our Church Group to start memorizing scripture. Since then, multiple men and women have memorized or are actively memorizing chapters or even books of the Bible. They’ve told us that it’s driven them to pray the Word and to meditate on it as a part of their daily lives.

– Erik and Izzy, Church Group Leaders, MBC Arlington

Church groups rallied around widows, providing a year of childcare, home repairs, financial help, and encouragement.

Farsi and Chinese-speaking groups reached new neighbors with the Gospel, and many groups were involved in outreach to foster families and supported local mission partners.

NEXT GENERATION

The next generation isn’t just the future of the church— they’re the church today. At MBC, we’re committed to helping every child, student, and young adult know Jesus deeply, grow in their faith, and be sent into their schools, workplaces, neighborhoods, and the nations. From Access ministries to Kid’s Quest, The Rock, and Young Adults, we’re investing in raising up a generation that reflects Christ’s heart and carries His mission forward.

NURTURING A GROWING FAITH, BUILDING A LASTING HOPE

From Sunday mornings to special events, our Kid’s Quest ministry has helped children know and love Jesus deeply. This year, many took the step of baptism, publicly declaring their faith and inspiring families to follow Christ together.

In 3rd and 4th grade was when it started. I was bullied because I was short. It made me sad… that was until I started praying. God made me feel like I belonged. Jesus helped me because He made me feel like I wasn’t alone. I want to stay with Him and walk with Him for the rest of my life.

 – Danielle, baptized at MBC Tysons, July 2025

Before I knew Jesus, life felt a thousand times harder. When I got hurt or went through something difficult, I would get angry at God and wonder why He allowed it… One day during a class for kids and parents, I realized Jesus didn’t just exist, but He also came to save me. I understood that even kids like me are sinners, and I didn’t have to be perfect to come to Him. That day, I invited Jesus into my heart.

That summer, I started attending The Rock, and I went to their summer camp… It was clear that He had hand-picked everyone in my cabin, especially my leaders. The turning point came during the last night of camp… God met me where I was and revealed Himself to me. He used rough times in my life to bring me closer to Him, even when I felt like no good could come out of a situation.

– Katherine, baptized at MBC Tysons, April 2025

I am not the only one Jesus saved that day…  My grandfather visited my great-grandmother, Dorothy, that evening and after he told her I’d accepted Jesus, he asked if she would like to ask Jesus to be her Savior, too. She smiled and said, “Yes!” He led her through the prayer and two days later she entered Heaven.

– Grant, baptized at Prince William, June 2025

At school and online, others criticized Christianity, the very thing I claimed to believe, and I couldn’t even defend it. Even worse, I wasn’t living like a true follower of Christ. My actions misrepresented Him, and I realized how much I needed a Savior.  I finally understood I couldn’t ignore the love Jesus has for us.

We ALL gathered together for a worship service on Wednesday, and it was a little taste of heaven to see people of all ages and abilities worshipping the Lord— some from the stage alongside the worship leaders/pastor, some running laps in the back of the room, even as they sang along to the worship songs… Fully welcomed, regardless of how they would best access the service and be able to worship and hear God’s Word.

– Julia, MBC Tysons Director of Access, about Access Family Retreat

I felt that there is a wider world out there that loves our son, and more so, I felt Gabe is special to God. I felt tonight that He will always love and take care of Gabe.

– Parent of participant in 2025 Night to Shine

Two of our Access moms, after they dropped their adult sons off at camp, got together to share strategies of what has worked well in developing and encouraging quiet times for their sons at home. This can seem like an impossible concept for many of our Access families, but these moms are working hard to instill God’s Word deep in the hearts of their sons.

YOUNG ADULTS

YOUNG ADULTS ARE ENCOUNTERING JESUS AND GROWING TOGETHER AS DISCIPLES

Across our locations, young adults (18-30s) are gathering to pursue authentic community and a deeper walk with Jesus. Through Citywide at MBC Tysons alone, nearly 200 young adults gather weekly to study God’s Word and learn to live out their faith in everyday life.

I thought that a life of my own design would be better than one following God… In March of 2024, I started coming to McLean Bible Church after a friend had been inviting me for months. I started to fully trust Jesus again and realize that His plans are better than my own.

– Jennifer, young adult baptized at MBC Tysons

Before I received Christ, I only communed with God during the hard times, only attended church for the major holidays, never read my Bible, and was living a very sinful life… I attended McLean Bible Church here in Arlington almost exactly a year ago today… I couldn’t tell you exactly what part of God’s Word struck me at that service, but I do remember bawling my eyes out and walking out of here feeling so much lighter. The Holy Spirit entered into me and immediately began working on my heart and mind. For the first time ever in my life, I know what true love feels like because of Jesus.

I love to connect with new people. I can spot a new person easily in the lobby area, and immediately greet them and help them get acclimated to PW. I always try to introduce them to staff members. Newcomers almost always remember their first contact. It’s a great feeling to get them connected.

Serving at the Rock has led to tremendous growth in my walk with the Lord. My students are curious about Christianity and how it relates to their generation, pressing me to focus heavily on application. While the application looks different in their lives than mine, I find it important to set the example and also talk about how I plan to apply the message.

REACH: FROM GREATER WASHINGTON DC TO THE NATIONS

In 2025, God has used McLean Bible Church as one church in five locations with Church Groups meeting across the DMV to make a remarkable impact. From Loudoun to Montgomery County and everywhere in between, our church family has gathered, grown, and served together, bringing the hope of Jesus to neighborhoods all across our region. This united presence has allowed us to reach more people, build more disciples, and see lives transformed for God’s glory.

LOCAL OUTREACH

REACHING OUR NEIGHBORS WITH THE LOVE OF CHRIST

God is opening doors for our church to serve and share the hope of Jesus across greater Washington, DC. Here are a few highlights from Local Outreach initiatives this past year.

Over the past many years, I’ve had the joy of getting to know and become friends with many of the older generation and, at times, the honor of grieving their loss. It’s given me a window into a group of people we don’t often see in a younger city like Arlington, and my own life is much richer because of these friendships. I have also learned first-hand that caring for those Jesus called “the least of these” (in Matthew 25:40) isn’t just good for them; it’s good for us–  good for our souls.”

GLOBAL OUTREACH

MAKING CHRIST KNOWN THROUGHOUT THE WORLD

From the DMV to the ends of the earth, God has opened doors for MBC to participate in His global mission. In 2025, our church supported missionaries in unreached areas, sent teams around the world, and provided resources to start and strengthen local churches. Together, we are seeing the Good News of Jesus shared with people and the church established in places that desperately need His hope.

This was my first mission trip ever and God gave me the divine opportunity to serve my country, my people, and my city through the power of the Holy Spirit. Through our in-country partner’s amazing Christ-like example, God opened my blindness to see my people and city for the first time through the heart of the Gospel!

– Member of a short-term South Asian mission team, who was originally from the country they served

Our primary goal was the encouragement of the workers and local believers. I am confident that this occurred as we were able to come alongside brothers and sisters in ministry and in prayer. Additionally, we were able to introduce more than a dozen people to the Gospel. I believe that each member of the team grew in their personal devotion and love for Christ, commitment to seeing others know Him, and boldness in declaring His goodness.

GOD IS MOVING IN THE LEAST-REACHED PLACES THROUGH OUR GLOBAL PARTNERS

Bold Faith In Central Asia. The local church hosted a vibrant Vacation Bible School that welcomed over 200 children and shared the Gospel in five different languages. Soon after, three local women publicly professed their faith through baptism— one doing so even after being disowned by her family just moments before. Her courage was a powerful reminder of the cost and beauty of following Christ in a challenging country.

Generations Transformed in Southeast Asia. God is drawing people from every age and background to Himself. This year, six believers were baptized, including a couple from Buddhist families and two women who came to faith after being prayed for over twenty years. Even the pastor’s 70-year-old mother, after decades of hearing the Gospel, finally believed. Her joy now radiates each week as she joins worship with her Bible in hand.

The Gospel Taking Root in Thailand. In Thailand, MBC missionaries helped translate and publish four Gospel-centered books in Thai, placing them in the hands of children, students, and church leaders across the country. Over 800 Crossway Study Bibles were distributed to seminary students and pastors, equipping the next generation of Thai believers with God’s Word. Among their church family, new members were welcomed — including a Thai believer who, after months of discipleship and care, joyfully declared their faith through baptism.

As one of the young women shared, the call to prayer echoed across the city, a striking reminder of the context in which these professions of faith are made. Unbeknownst to many there watching, just moments before her baptism, she had received a call from her parents who, in anger, had harshly disowned her. Even so, she chose to step forward in faith.

– Mission Partner in Central Asia

We organized a Christmas and Easter event. It was amazing to have a big hall of children listening to the story of Jesus’ birth. We were able to sow seeds in many hearts…

CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF GOD'S FAITHFULNESS IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY

In July 2025, our Montgomery County location celebrated 10 years of ministry. They celebrated the hundreds of people who have come to faith in Jesus and grown in their discipleship to Jesus over the past decade. It was such a fun time of celebration and anticipation for what’s ahead!

One of the greatest things that God has given me through MBC MoCo is community — brothers, sisters, loved ones, mentors. He cultivated a deeper love for the body of Christ. He used MBC MoCo to do that and I thank God for that.

– Yah'eez, young adult baptized at MBC Montgomery County

MBC MoCo, through the community of prayer warriors and believers, just rallied around us — to pray for us, to counsel us, to offer us guidance. We get sound biblical teaching here and all those things working together just really led to us being able to date fruitfully, to date in the way that we should. And we were married October of 2024…

We’re just really looking forward to how God can use us and use our stories. How we can serve the MBC community and how we can encourage others who have been through really difficult circumstances — that there’s hope and that your story’s not over yet.

– Leslie & Christina, members at MBC Montgomery County

The impact that I felt coming to this church, specifically to this location, is God’s providence… Just having the diversity, not just in ethnicity, but the diversity overall in ages and everything else and the level of faith was just incredible. And you can tell the power of the Holy Spirit guiding the church… You cannot just deny that it was God’s providence.

As we remember all the great things that God has done for this church, this location particularly, let us not forget what God can do — His mighty providence, His mighty sustaining power, His grace, His constant love for this family. Let us not also forget we believe in God, who can do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine. So let’s hold onto that promise, let’s hold onto that Word, let’s strive together with zeal and passion to serve God for the next ten years or even more.

As someone who works in digital marketing, social media and AI, and as a parent of young kids, it was encouraging to see these topics covered in light of the Gospel, the Church and missions in a new way. I went into the conference a bit apprehensive and left encouraged to seek God and community more. I am hopeful about how God is using these technologies to spread the Gospel to the unreached.

LAUNCHING THE ROCK AT ARLINGTON

We are so excited that after much prayer and preparation, MBC Arlington launched the Rock Student Ministry at its location. They are looking forward to discipling middle and high school students to know and live God’s Word.

Jaxon got into the car today after church and was so eager to tell me what they learned in church today.  Before I could say anything he lit up and asked, “Mom, want to hear what we read and learned today?”  He opened his Bible and read the verses to me and talked about observations he made. He also told me he’s starting a reading plan on The Bible App and asked if I had the app so we can be “friends” on it.

FUTURE: LOOKING AHEAD, PRAYING BOLD PRAYERS

As we look to the future, our vision remains rooted in Jesus’ call to make disciples here in our DMV neighborhoods and among the nations. We believe God is inviting us to a renewed focus on intentional discipleship and Gospel impact in every community we touch. As we prepare to share more of this renewed vision early next year, we ask you to join us in prayer that God would unite our church, stir fresh faith, and move powerfully through us for His glory. We can’t wait to share more!

God, make us a church that is confident in Your Word and passionate about Your presence.

God, make us a church of radical devotion and radical grace.

God, make us a church that welcomes and mobilizes all generations and intentionally reaches the next generation.

God, make us a church that expresses diversity as we experience unity.

God, make us a church of justice and generosity.

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

– Matthew 28:18-20
