Position Description

All of the locations of MBC are supported by a Central Ministry team that offices together in a separate wing at our Tysons location.  This team includes leadership, resourcing and support for all of the core ministries of MBC at each and every location.  The Central Director of Local Outreach will serve on this central team and will provide overall support and oversight for MBC’s numerous evangelistic and service-oriented opportunities across greater Washington.

Specifically, we are looking for a passionate, hard-working, relational leader who thrives in partnership development and intentional community outreach. The ideal Central Director of Local Outreach will be responsible for building and maintaining fruitful relationships with our location pastors and with community partners who share and invest in our vision. This person will have a natural gift for networking and communicating the vision of the church to the community. They must have the ability to assess the specific needs within the community and create strategies to meet those needs. Ultimately this person should possess a passion for inviting people from all walks of life to follow Jesus.

Qualifications

In addition to the general description above, the future Central Director of Local Outreach will also likely meet the following qualifications:

  • A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Meet the biblical qualifications of an elder and/or a deacon
  • Winsome in leadership and character
  • Alignment with MBC’s Doctrinal Statement and Constitution
  • Experience in building and leading high-capacity teams
  • Proven history of networking across diverse communities
  • Track record of successfully working with non-profits
  • Skills in personal communication
  • Demonstrated training and expertise in leading large-scale endeavors
  • Commitment to excellence
  • 4-5 personal and professional references affirming all of the above
