We glorify God by making disciples and multiplying churches in Greater Washington, D.C. Much of our disciple-making in the D.C. area occurs through our members’ personal witness in their offices, schools, and neighborhoods. But we also unite together in structured outreach to make disciples and multiply churches in our communities.

Assist Pregnancy Center’s mission to promote life through Christ to those vulnerable to abortion. Assist Pregnancy Center clients and their partners are offered free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and counseling, they are taught the truth about abortion, and they are provided with real help and hope for their future.  The ultimate hope is that these women and men can come to know the love of Christ and the hope found in Him through the work of Assist. MBC Arlington supports APC by preparing quarterly newsletter mailings, participating in the annual Walk Run Ride for Life, attending the annual fundraising banquet, and adopting baby showers. Providing this support allows them to devote more time and resources to caring directly for clients.

We seek opportunities to partner with and serve at Drew Elementary, a Title I school in the Green Valley neighborhood of Arlington, VA.  We hold annual events and participate in an ongoing mentoring and reading buddy program.  We are building a ministry to serve the families of students at Drew Elementary school and share with them the love and salvation of Jesus Christ.

Pure J.O.Y. is a ministry that visits the residents of local nursing homes every second Saturday of the month to share God’s love. We seek to demonstrate that they are beautiful and treasured through simple manicures, playing games, and conversation. We work for the opportunity to share with them the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. Men, women, whole families, and Church Groups serve together in this ministry.

Even as we transition away from the emergency food distribution work we emphasized during the pandemic, our community events still often involve food distribution alongside other activities.

If you are in need, you’re welcome to join us at any of the events below, where we will be giving out boxes of food on a first-come, first-served basis. Many of our sites also feel like community festivals, with games and other activities. So whether you need food or not, feel free to come visit us!

Shriver Program is a secondary school for Arlington Public School students who have special needs. The Shriver Program is a diverse and inclusive school community, committed to educational excellence, personalized learning, integrity and improving the quality of life for each student. They provide instruction in a caring, safe and healthy learning environment, responsive to each student, in collaboration with families and the community. MBC Arlington provides support and care for students and families through specific drives, such as a Christmas gift card drive. There are also opportunities to serve at Shriver in a variety of capacities during the school day as an individual volunteer!

Project Belong inspires, recruits, and resources the local church to care for vulnerable children with the love of Christ. In Virginia’s Northern region,there are over 1,300 children and teens in foster care. In the same area, there are over 1,400 churches. Project Belong’s goal is to encourage and equip 10% of those churches to actively seek to serve foster, adoptive, kinship and struggling biological families. MBC provides opportunities to come alongside Project Belong through prayer, community service, mentorship to aged out foster young adults, and support to social workers and foster families.
